Everyone Belongs Here Event – Wed. 11/16 9AM

Wednesday, November 16 @ 8:00 a.m. (WOOD at 9:00 a.m.)
Where: At each of Alameda’s Middle Schools

On Friday, November 11, someone posted hate graffiti on the wall of Edison School. District staff and community members acted quickly to paint over it.

At 8 a.m. Wednesday morning (9 a.m. at Wood MS), the District is encouraging community members to greet students and families at each of the city’s MIDDLE schools with signs displaying hearts and/or the words “Everyone Belongs Here” to stand in silent support for all students in Alameda. (old lawn signs are a perfect reuse for this!)

We ask that participants stay quiet, smile and at most say welcome to people arriving, but not raise the issue about the graffiti, which the district and individual parents will decide how to engage with their kids.

Please join us for thirty minutes in standing up to hate in Alameda.
