Registration is now open for the Alameda Running Festival, Oct. 29 – 30, 2016, at beautiful Alameda Point.  Youth (and their families) are encouraged to participate in this inaugural event that focuses on the fun and health benefits of running.

The Festival incorporates a Family Fun Run on Saturday and a half marathon, 10k, and 5k run/walk on Sunday. The event will start and finish in Alameda Point and highlight several beautiful areas around the island.  This is a two-day festival of events that includes an expo around health and wellness as well as community involvement including local schools, businesses, charities and fundraising.

The event benefits Alameda Meals on Wheels and the Alameda Education Foundation (AEF).  AEF will use generated funds to support youth fitness programs, including the AEF middle school cross country club, AEF middle school year-round competitive sports leagues, and elementary school PE programs.

More information and registration may be found at  Register soon to receive a discounted fee.

Those who wish to volunteer may sign up here:  Please indicate “AEF” on the volunteer form.
